At Little Patch we are always looking for new ways to connect the community with rescued animals and nature.

That is why we are launching the Nature's Companions Program!

The Nature's Companions Program was created to connect adults with varying disabilities with animals and nature to increase their motivation in their daily life and to practice new skills.

This program will meet members where they are and keep them engaged and inspired.

Program Goals

Spend Time with Animals & in Nature

Our program provides engaging animal care tasks that keeps each participant motivated to show up weekly. All activities and tasks take place outdoors, in fresh air with a great community.

Empowerment

Nature's Companions Program empowers participants through promoting healthy social interaction, emotional well-being, and personal development through meaningful animal interactions and task completion.

Practicing Skills

Animal care tasks will require participants to learn new skills to safely connect with animals and care for them successfully.

The Animals Benefit Too!

Nature's Companions enriches the lives of both participants and the animals they care for by fostering a sense of purpose and connection. Many rescue animals achieve their first steps to healing through simply building trust and bonds with humans.
