A Day at Camp

Playful Piglets

Each day at our Summer Farm Camp is unique! Each day is designed differently to fit in our three corse class, guest speakers, entertainment, group games and animal connection. 

8:45 am - 9:15 am: Camper Drop-Off & Connection Time with Counselors & Friends: We welcome in the morning with conversation and mindful activities that help staff and campers connect with each other and start the day with ease and calm!

 

9:20 am - 9:40 am: Morning Circle: The entire camp starts the day together at Morning Meeting to discuss the schedule for the day, sing songs or read a book together to prepare us for the days activities. 

9:40 am – 10:30 am: Animal Connection: Students will explore different enclosures daily and spend time with their favorite animal friends! Here there is lots of time for animal pets, hugs and handling. We will practice techniques to help us better connect to our new friends. 

10:30 am - 11 am: Crafts: Here we will work on a daily craft OR weekly project based on our topic of the day or week! Most will take place outside with animals. 

11 am - 11:30 am: Nature Explorers: We will lead a mindfulness nature walk that promotes exploration and end with playground time! .

11:30 am - 12:00 pm: Wash up and Nature Lunch! 

A Day at Camp

Radical Rabbits

Each day at our Summer Farm Camp is unique! Each day is designed differently to fit in our three corse class, guest speakers, entertainment, group games and animal connection. 

7:45 am - 9:00 am: Before Camp Program (Optional) Campers can choose from several quiet activities, including board games, nature walks, or birdwatching using binoculars. Pre-registration required!

 

9:00 am - 9:30 am: Camper Drop-Off & Connection Time with Counselors & Friends: We welcome in the morning with conversation and mindful activities that help staff and campers connect with each other and start the day with ease and calm!

 

9:30 am - 9:45 am: Morning Meeting: The entire camp starts the day together at Morning Meeting to discuss the schedule for the day with Ms. Alexis. She will update the campers on farm, animals, and camp news! 

9:50 am – 10:30 am: Class One: There will be 3 groups of 7 - 10 students. Students will typically be separated by age group (8 - 9) (10 - 11) (11-12). Each group will attend 3 classes! 1. Large Animal 2. Small Animal 3. Animal/Nature  Connection. 

10:35 am - 11:25am: Class Two: There will be 3 groups of 7 - 10 students. Students will typically be separated by age group (8 - 9) (10 - 11) (11-12). Each group will attend 3 classes! 1. Large Animal 2. Small Animal 3. Animal/Nature  Connection 

 

11:30 am - 12:10 pm: Wash up and Nature Lunch 

12:10 pm - 12:40pm: Ice Pop & Recess 

12:45pm - 1:35pm: Class Three: There will be 3 groups of 7 - 10 students. Students will typically be separated by age group (8 - 9) (10 - 11) (11-12). Each group will attend 3 classes! 1. Large Animal 2. Small Animal 3. Animal/Nature  Connection 

 

1:40 – 2:30 pm: Rescue Topics: The entire camp comes together to share Animal and Nature Notes from the day, and share what they have learned during their day so far! Students will get to spend one-on-one time with animals, learn about an array of topics in animal rescue and engage in activities that promote compassion and animal connection. 

 

2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Afternoon Blob: Campers will be given Ice pops to cool down and can play on the playground, go for guided nature walks, or continue crafts/project creation in the big barn! 

3:00 pm: Camper Pick-up: Families pick up campers. Families are welcome to walk the farm at pick up and enjoy the nature and animals together!! Bring carrots and apples to enhance this experience. 

 

3:00 pm – 5:30 pm: After Camp Program (Optional) Campers will be given options from several quiet activities to more movement based activities including board games and cards, walk animals, clean animal enclosures, bird watch & so much. Snack time here is flexible but typically starts at 4pm. Pre-registration is required

A Day at Camp

Teeny Turtles 

Each day at our Summer Farm Camp is unique! Each day is designed differently to fit in our three corse class, guest speakers, entertainment, group games and animal connection. 

7:45 am - 9:00 am: Before Camp Program (Optional) Teens will work on cleaning paddocks, filling waters, checking houses, provding animal updates and so on. 

 

9:00 am - 9:30 am: Camper Drop-Off & Connection Time with Counselors & Friends: We welcome in the morning with conversation and mindful activities that help volunteers and campers connect with each other and start the day with ease and calm!

 

9:30 am - 9:45 am: Morning Meeting: The entire camp starts the day together at Morning Meeting to discuss the schedule for the day with Ms. Alexis. She will update the campers on farm, animals, and camp news! 

9:50 am – 10:30 am: Class One: Each volunteer will be assigned a specific group to shadow and assist with. 

10:35 am - 11:25am: Class Two: Each volunteer will be assigned a specific group to shadow and assist with. 

 

11:30 am - 12:10 pm: Wash up and Nature Lunch with All Volunteers 

12:10 pm - 12:40pm: Ice Pop & Volunteeer Freetime 

12:45pm - 1:35pm: Class Three: Each volunteer will be assigned a specific group to shadow and assist with.

Can I Write Off Camp Expenses on my Taxes? 

If you paid a daycare center, babysitter, summer camp, or other care provider to care for a qualifying child under age 13 or a disabled dependent of any age, you may qualify for a tax credit of up to 35 percent of qualifying expenses of $3,000 ($1,050) for one child or dependent, or up to $6,000 ($2,100) for two or more children or dependents.
